Capital raising in Morocco reached a significant MAD 67.77 billion during the first seven months of 2024, compared to MAD 50.99 billion over the same period last year, according to the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC).
These capital inflows primarily came from negotiable debt securities (NDS) issuances, which accounted for approximately MAD 53 billion, bond issuances (MAD 10.18 billion), and equity issuances (MAD 4.59 billion), stated the AMMC in its latest monthly capital market indicators for July 2024.
In July alone, capital raised amounted to over MAD 13.84 billion, with MAD 11.79 billion coming from NDS and MAD 2.06 billion from bond issuances, according to the same source.
Additionally, the AMMC report highlighted a 7% year-on-year increase in the outstanding value of securities lending and borrowing operations, which reached MAD 27.6 billion by the end of July.
