Ezzedine Nouiri Wins Silver in Shot Put at Paris Paralympic Games

Moroccan athlete Ezzedine Nouiri won the silver medal in shot put (F34 category) this Saturday during the athletics competition at the Paris Paralympic Games, which will conclude tomorrow, Sunday.

Nouiri claimed this medal with a throw of 11.70 m, just one centimeter behind Colombian Valencia Mauricio, who achieved 11.71 m.

The bronze medal went to Jordan’s Ahmed Hindi, who recorded a throw of 11.66 m.

In a press statement, Nouiri expressed that his goal was to win a second gold medal for Morocco and that he had worked tirelessly toward achieving this. He expressed his disappointment at losing by just one centimeter but said he was happy with the silver medal, which adds to Morocco’s medal tally. He also wished the remaining Moroccan athletes good luck.

This is Morocco’s ninth medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, following bronze medals by Ayman El Haddaoui in the 100 m (T47 category), Ayoub Addouish in the under 63 kg (K44 category) in parataekwondo, Rajae Akrmaach in the over 65 kg category (K44), Saida Amoudi in shot put (F34 category), as well as silver medals by Fatima Ezzahra Idrissi in the 1500 m (T13 category), Abdelilah Kani in shot put, Yousra Karim in discus throw (F41 category), and the gold medal by Moncef Bouja in the 400 m (T12 category).
