Spanish media also share this enthusiasm. According to Marca, Diaz secured multiple titles with Real Madrid in 2024, including the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. With 13 goals and 8 assists to his name, he’s having a phenomenal season. Although he faces stiff competition from players like Ademola Lookman and Serhou Guirassy, Diaz aims to become the first African Ballon d’Or winner in Real Madrid’s history.
The final decision will be made in December after an initial shortlist of 30 players, which will later be reduced to 10 finalists.
