Hakim Ziyech sustained a knee injury while with the Moroccan national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Galatasaray announced in a statement.
« Our player Hakim, who felt pain in his upper right back muscle during the match against Lesotho in the AFCON qualifiers, has been diagnosed with a second-degree strain (sprain, bleeding, and partial tear) in the upper right back muscle group following examinations at our sponsor hospital, Medicana. Ziyech’s treatment has already started, » the Turkish team said.
As a result, Hakim Ziyech will not take part in the derby against Fenerbahçe, scheduled for the 6th round of the Turkish league on the 21st of this month.
It should be noted that Ziyech started in the match against Gabon during the first round of qualifiers last Friday and came on as a substitute for Amir Richardson in the 57th minute of the second round match against Lesotho on Monday.
