The National Rally of Independents (RNI) regained its parliamentary seat in the « Mouhit » constituency during the by-elections held yesterday, Thursday, in Rabat. The party’s candidate, Saad Benmbarek, won the electoral race in this politically significant area, often referred to as the « death district, » surpassing candidates from the Justice and Development Party, the Left Federation, and the Socialist Union of Popular Forces. The Ministry of Interior announced the by-elections after the RNI member, Abderrahim Waslim, was stripped of his parliamentary seat following a final court ruling on a bounced check case.
