Amid a large gathering of young party members, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch harshly criticized his predecessor Abdelilah Benkirane this Friday.

In direct and indirect responses to Benkirane, leader of the Justice and Development Party (PJD), who had accused him of stealing from widows and orphans, Akhannouch stated, « Politics is about ethics first and foremost, and no one can claim to defend ethics in politics if they don’t possess it themselves. »

While presiding over the opening of the fifth edition of the Young Independents’ University, organized on September 13 and 14, 2024, in Agadir under the theme « Democratic and Social Youth Contributing to Strengthening the Social State, » Akhannouch added, « We will not be dragged into vulgar speech. »

Akhannouch proudly stated that his party is large, and this gathering of young people represents the biggest political event in the country. « We have first family ethics, and then political ethics, which do not allow us to insult people, » he said, noting that insults in politics are « a sign of political failure. »

Speaking triumphantly, Akhannouch highlighted the recent partial legislative election results in the Rabat-Ocean and Fquih Ben Salah districts, which reaffirm the citizens’ trust in the political project of the National Rally of Independents (RNI). « Moroccans want our party to remain at the forefront of the political scene, » he claimed.

He urged the youth of his party to take the floor and not leave it to « clowns and populists, » urging them to hold their heads high with pride in the achievements of this government.
