Barcelona, who maintained a perfect record in their first five La Liga matches, will have to do without their new midfielder, Dani Olmo, for a month due to a hamstring injury.
The Spanish international scored a goal on Sunday during his team’s 4-1 victory over Girona in the fifth round of the league but was substituted due to injury.
A club statement revealed, « Tests carried out on Monday morning confirmed that Dani Olmo sustained an injury to his right hamstring, » adding that he is expected to be out for four to five weeks.
The former Leipzig player will miss Barcelona’s first two matches in the revamped Champions League against Monaco and Switzerland’s Young Boys, along with several La Liga games and Spain’s Nations League clashes against Denmark and Serbia early next month.
