Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui is set to return to competition after recovering from a recent injury, as confirmed by Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag.
In his statement, Ten Hag said: « Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, and Lisandro Martínez are ready to face Barnsley in the English League Cup, scheduled for today. »
Mazraoui was unable to complete his team’s last match against Southampton (3-0), which took place last Saturday in the 4th round of the Premier League. He was substituted in the 74th minute by teammate Harry Maguire.
According to English media reports, Mazraoui, who had been performing impressively during the match, was replaced due to discomfort the Moroccan player felt about 15 minutes before the end of the game.
