Younes Tazi, Governor of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and Prefect of the Tangier-Assilah province, presided over a ceremony in Tangier this Thursday to inaugurate the newly appointed administrative officials as part of a recent reshuffle initiated by the Ministry of the Interior.
In his speech, Governor Tazi outlined the general framework of this process, which involved several key administrative positions in Tangier-Assilah, including the Secretary-General of the province, the head of the internal affairs division, and various local district and administrative leaders.
The governor emphasized that this reshuffle aims to breathe new life into territorial governance by integrating competent officials, some of whom were promoted based on merit and qualifications. He saw this as an opportunity to reaffirm commitment to the royal directives, prioritizing diligence, integrity, and the public interest over personal gains.
Governor Tazi also stressed the importance of this new leadership in addressing current socio-economic challenges, such as drought, water scarcity, urban migration, and forest fires. He urged the new officials to maintain constant vigilance and foster strong communication with citizens.
The event was attended by military, security, judicial officials, elected representatives, as well as members of civil society and political parties.
