On Wednesday, September 25th, the city of Jerada witnessed a large-scale campaign organized by local authorities in collaboration with the Jerada Commune, supported by local officials and auxiliary forces. The campaign aimed to gather homeless people and individuals without shelter from the streets and public squares.
These individuals were taken to the social reception center « Sand » in the Oulad Salah area, where they were provided with shelter.
This humanitarian initiative seeks to protect this vulnerable group from harsh cold waves and difficult weather conditions, especially with the heavy rains affecting vast regions of the country.
The campaign included homeless individuals and those with mental disorders of various ages, who were living in dire conditions on the streets of the city.
This effort was warmly welcomed by the residents of Jerada, who expressed their satisfaction with the initiative aimed at improving the humanitarian conditions in the city.
Some locals also pointed out that the presence of such individuals in the streets had become a safety concern for citizens, as some people with mental disorders had been involved in assaults.
