Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch announced on Wednesday that the implementation of the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy is a key pillar in the government’s roadmap to boost employment. In a recorded speech broadcast at the official launch of the strategy, Akhannouch emphasized that digitalization is a significant driver of job creation, particularly for youth, including both graduates and those who are not currently in education, employment, or training.

The Prime Minister praised the joint efforts of various national stakeholders in developing this roadmap, noting that the strategy was shaped through extensive consultations with key players in the digital sector, involving public administrations, professional federations, training institutions, and the private sector. He highlighted that two meetings of the National Digital Development Committee helped finalize the general guidelines of the strategy.

Akhannouch stressed that addressing the impact of consecutive crises on the labor market is a top concern for the government in the remaining years of its term. He also announced that concrete actions will be unveiled during the discussion of the 2025 finance bill.

The strategy has allocated a budget of 11 billion dirhams between 2024 and 2026, with the aim of training 100,000 young people annually in the digital sector and creating 240,000 jobs in the national digital economy.
