The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners organized an event this Thursday to inaugurate the « Tissir Schooling Support Program » for the 2024-2025 school year, aimed at the children of those benefiting from the Foundation’s services.

In a statement, the Foundation highlighted that this initiative is aligned with the noble strategy of Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to enhance reintegration programs for former detainees and their families. The program, launched in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Morocco and supported by the U.S. Fund, reflects the Foundation’s commitment to promoting a child rights culture. This initiative aims to strengthen knowledge and foster values of education, respect, and tolerance among the children of the Foundation’s beneficiaries.

The « Tissir Schooling Support Program » is part of a broader social effort developed with national and international partners. This academic year, 369 children nationwide will benefit, including 229 in primary education, 93 in middle school, and 47 in high school, all supervised by the Foundation’s regional centers for accompaniment and reintegration.

The event concluded with the distribution of electronic tablets, educational materials, clothing, and school supplies, bringing joy and excitement to these children as they start the school year like their peers across the country. The ceremony was attended by the general coordinator of the Foundation, the acting UNDP resident representative in Morocco, and representatives from the U.S. and Netherlands embassies.
