The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading on a positive note this Thursday, with the main index « MASI » gaining 1.02% to settle at 14,168.219 points.
The « MASI.20 » index, which tracks the performance of the top 20 listed companies, rose by 1.13% to 1,144.61 points. Meanwhile, the MASI.ESG index, which includes companies with the best ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings, gained 1.05%, reaching 1,016.14 points.
The « MASI Mid and Small Cap » index, representing the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the exchange, advanced by 1.14% to settle at 1,348.17 points.
On an individual stock level, the strongest gains were made by « Jett Contractors » (+5% at 1,050 dirhams), « IB Maroc.com » (+3.81% at 38.44 dirhams), « LafargeHolcim Maroc » (+3.13% at 1,879 dirhams), « Ciments du Maroc » (+3.10% at 1,797 dirhams), and « TAQA Maroc » (+2.95% at 1,467 dirhams).
On the other hand, the largest declines were recorded by « CFG Bank » (-1.58% at 187 dirhams), « Med Paper » (-1.13% at 21 dirhams), « Attijariwafa Bank » (-0.71% at 533.20 dirhams), « Cosumar » (-0.54% at 183 dirhams), and « Managem » (-0.43% at 1,610 dirhams).
It’s worth noting that the MASI index ended Wednesday’s session with a 1.24% loss.
