Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch announced this Wednesday in Rabat that, following royal instructions, the duration of emergency aid payments, set at 2,500 dirhams, for the population affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, will be extended by an additional five months. This extension is meant to give the beneficiaries more time to complete the repair of their damaged homes.

In a press statement following the 12th meeting of the inter-ministerial committee in charge of the reconstruction and rehabilitation program for areas affected by the earthquake, Akhannouch explained that this extension, after an initial period of 12 months, aims to ensure that the repairs can be completed under optimal conditions.

He urged those who benefited from the housing aid to expedite the reconstruction process, emphasizing that the programs for rebuilding and rehabilitating the affected areas are progressing at a good pace.
