Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens with Gains on Friday

The Casablanca Stock Exchange started trading this Friday on a positive note, with the main index « MASI » advancing by 0.56%, settling at 14,233.64 points.

The « MASI.20 » index, which tracks the performance of the top 20 listed companies, gained 0.59%, reaching 1,146.66 points. Meanwhile, the « MASI.ESG » index, which includes companies with the highest ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings, grew by 0.56%, to reach 1,021.03 points.

The « MASI Mid and Small Cap » index, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises on the stock exchange, rose by 1.13%, reaching 1,021.03 points.

Among individual stocks, the top performers were « TotalEnergies Marketing Maroc » (+7.41% / 1,724 dirhams), « Jet Contractors » (+5.75% / 1,121 dirhams), « Résidences Dar Saada » (+4.94% to 82.9 dirhams), « Travaux Généraux de Construction de Casablanca SA » (+3.93% / 423 dirhams), and « Aradei Capital » (+2.91% / 530 dirhams).

On the downside, the biggest decliners were « Sothema » (-7.75% / 881 dirhams), « Cartier Saada » (-7.57% / 34.05 dirhams), « Microdata » (-3.92% / 630 dirhams), « Crédit Immobilier et Hôtelier » (-2.43% / 400 dirhams), and « Stokvis North Africa » (-1.53% / 15.42 dirhams).

The MASI index had finished yesterday’s session with a gain of 0.93%.
