Government Majority Presidency Meeting in Rabat

The Government Majority Presidency held its regular meeting yesterday, Wednesday, in Rabat, led by Aziz Akhannouch, president of the National Rally of Independents, with Fatima Zahra Mansouri, coordinator of the collective leadership of the Authenticity and Modernity Party, and Nizar Baraka, secretary-general of the Istiqlal Party, alongside Rachid Talbi Alami and Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.

A statement from the Majority Presidency, received by « Morocco 24 », indicated that the meeting was dedicated to discussing recent political, economic, and social developments, as well as some international issues. The focus was on strengthening cooperation mechanisms between the government and all components of the majority to meet future challenges.

Key Outcomes of the Meeting:

1. Tribute to the Memory of King Hassan II: On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of his passing, the Majority Presidency paid tribute to the late King Hassan II, praying for his soul and reaffirming their support for King Mohammed VI.

2. Rejection of the EU Court’s Decision: The majority rejects the recent European Court of Justice ruling concerning the agricultural and fisheries agreements between Morocco and the EU, reiterating that the issue of Morocco’s territorial integrity falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the United Nations.

3. Condemnation of the War in Palestine: The Presidency strongly condemns the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian people, calling for an immediate ceasefire and a return to negotiations for a peaceful resolution based on a two-state solution.

4. Crisis Management Efforts: The majority commends the government’s swift response to natural disasters like the Al Haouz earthquake and the floods in the southeastern regions, implementing a comprehensive recovery program for the affected areas.

5. Focus on Education: It highlights the government’s commitment to improving the quality of public education, providing financial support to families for school supplies.

6. Combating Inflation: Aware of the inflation challenge, the majority emphasizes the government’s efforts to stabilize prices and support families through direct aid.

7. Cohesion within the Majority: The majority emphasizes the cohesion and unity among its components, enabling smooth management of government affairs and adherence to the planned agenda.
