COVID-19 in Morocco: Weekly Update

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced on Friday that two new COVID-19 cases were recorded, with no deaths reported, during the period from October 5 to 11.

In its weekly COVID-19 bulletin, the Ministry highlighted that 24,925,027 individuals have received the first vaccine dose, while 23,427,063 people have received the second dose. Additionally, 6,889,780 people received the third dose, and 61,584 have received the fourth dose.

The new infections have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 1,279,437 since the first case was reported in Morocco on March 2, 2020, with a weekly positivity rate of 1.1%.

The bulletin also noted that 182 tests were conducted this week, raising the total number of tests to 13,101,922. The two new cases were registered in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab regions. On the other hand, the cumulative death toll remains at 16,309, with a general fatality rate of 1.3% and a total of three active cases.
