Today, Saturday, Mohamed Ould Rachid from the Istiqlal Party was elected as President of the Council of Advisors for the second half of the 2021-2027 legislative term during a plenary session held by the council.
This session, chaired by the temporary president of the council’s office, Mahmoud Archan, was held in accordance with the provisions of Article 63 of the Constitution. Mohamed Ould Rachid, the sole candidate for the presidency representing the majority, received 94 votes out of a total of 104 votes cast, while the number of invalid ballots reached 10.
