The Moroccan national football team will play two crucial matches against the Central African Republic this Saturday and next Tuesday in Oujda. These matches are part of the third and fourth rounds of the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, set to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

This marks the first time in a long while that the « Atlas Lions » will play in Oujda, as previous matches were typically held in major cities with larger stadiums. However, this move to eastern Morocco is not driven by technical or organizational reasons but is due to ongoing renovations of major stadiums in preparation for hosting the AFCON 2025 and the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.

Although Morocco has already qualified as the host nation, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation aims to use these matches to prepare a new generation of young players for upcoming continental and international challenges.
