Yesterday, Friday, a tragic incident shook the Bhalil area in Sefrou province, where an elderly woman lost her life at the hands of her son in his thirties, who then committed suicide.
According to a local source, the deceased son first slaughtered his mother with a sharp object inside the family home, before throwing himself off the roof.
The same source mentioned that the victim died instantly, while the assailant, who suffered from psychological issues, took his last breath on the way to the emergency unit of Hassan II University Hospital in Fez.
The Royal Gendarmerie authorities in Bhalil have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding this incident.
