Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch presided over the opening of the second edition of the « National Industry Day » this Wednesday in the city of Ben Guerir. He emphasized that this event serves as a renewed opportunity to celebrate achievements and exchange ideas on major national challenges and the global changes impacting the industrial sector.

Akhannouch highlighted the special attention that King Mohammed VI gives to the kingdom’s industrial sector, recognizing its significance within the national economic framework. He considers it a fundamental pillar for the country’s comprehensive and sustainable development, both economically and socially.

He recalled the royal speech delivered during the first edition of the « National Industry Day, » which stressed that Morocco « has made significant progress in the industrial sector over the past two decades, thanks to its adoption of the principle of global economic openness and its ambitious and clear strategies stemming from a comprehensive territorial vision. »

He also emphasized that these ambitious strategies have been supported by a network of industrial and logistical infrastructure, such as the Tanger Med port, which ranks first in the Mediterranean and Africa, a network of highways spanning 1,800 kilometers, as well as the mobilization of over 13,000 hectares of industrial land and the creation of around 150 industrial zones.

According to the Prime Minister, various structural reforms have accompanied these industrial strategies, aiming to improve the business environment, enhance skills training through new structures like the Cities of Trades and Skills, and boost the competitiveness of the national industry.
