The total number of tourists who stayed in classified hotels, residences, and tourist clubs in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region reached 23,854 during the first eight months of this year.

According to data from the regional tourism delegation, this figure includes 16,238 resident tourists who visited the four provinces of the region (Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Tan-Tan, and Assa-Zag) by the end of August, along with 7,616 non-resident tourists.

The report highlights that these tourist accommodations recorded a total of 40,468 overnight stays, with 26,748 attributed to resident tourists and 13,720 to non-residents.

The breakdown of tourist numbers by province shows that Guelmim received 13,459 visitors, Sidi Ifni 5,506, Tan-Tan 4,826, and Assa-Zag 63.

Among non-resident tourists, the largest numbers came from France (3,093 tourists, 4,927 nights), Spain (699 tourists, 1,259 nights), Germany (625 tourists, 1,162 nights), Italy (362 tourists, 475 nights), the United States (225 tourists, 1,537 nights), Switzerland (219 tourists, 471 nights), and Belgium (213 tourists, 340 nights).

Moreover, the occupancy rate in classified tourist accommodations increased by four percentage points during the first eight months of this year, reaching 22%. In August alone, the region recorded 3,692 tourists and 6,582 overnight stays, of which 3,163 were resident tourists.
