Moroccan player Bilal El Khannous netted his first goal for Leicester City after joining the club from Belgian side Genk in the latest summer transfer window.
The goal came during Leicester City’s Round of 16 match against Manchester United in the English League Cup, held at Old Trafford. The game ended with a 5-2 victory for Manchester United.
Manchester United initially took control, scoring two consecutive goals, but El Khannous gave Leicester some hope by scoring a brilliant goal in the 33rd minute, a low-driven shot that found the back of the net.
Despite El Khannous’s impressive performance, Leicester conceded two additional goals shortly after, complicating the game further.
Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui joined the game in the second half as Manchester United made several changes to their lineup, a common strategy among top English clubs during cup matches.
El Khannous’s first goal for Leicester highlights his promising talent, as the team looks to improve in future competitions.
