At the seventh Marrakech International Air Show, Morocco’s Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, announced that the country has moved from 36th place globally in 2012 to 26th in 2023 in the aerospace sector.

Akhannouch highlighted that Morocco’s rapid growth in this sector, marked by innovation and high competitiveness, has established the country as a leading regional hub in Africa for aerospace manufacturing.

More than 150 prominent companies, including Boeing, Airbus, and Safran, have expanded their investments in Morocco, significantly boosting national exports. In 2023, aerospace exports exceeded 23 billion dirhams, tripling in value over the past decade. By the end of August 2024, the sector achieved a record 21% growth in exports. Additionally, a new partnership was signed with Safran, coinciding with the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, aimed at enhancing Morocco’s engine maintenance and repair network.
