Parliamentary representative Hassan Oumribat, from the Progressive and Socialist group, has submitted a written question to the Minister of Interior regarding delays in starting the high-service-level buses (BHNS) in Agadir.
Oumribat highlighted that the residents of Agadir are eagerly awaiting the launch of this project, which is part of the city’s 2020-2024 urban development plan aimed at enhancing urban transport quality. Although the first bus was tested last July and the fleet was purchased, the dedicated bus lanes remain empty, disrupting residents’ daily commutes.
The MP also raised concerns about the buses being parked for months in unsuitable conditions, exposed to weather elements, which has led to worries about the project’s future, noting a similar experience with high-quality buses in Marrakech.
Oumribat questioned the reasons behind the delay and urged the Ministry of Interior to clarify its plans for launching the long-awaited « Amal Way » project as soon as possible.
