On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Secretary of State for Fisheries Zakia Driouch, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests, presented a comprehensive overview of the 2025 fisheries sector budget to members of the Productive Sectors Committee in the House of Representatives. This presentation covered the achievements of the fisheries sector in 2024, along with the strategic vision and key priorities for the 2025 financial year.
This presentation was held in a committee meeting chaired by MP Abdelaziz Lachheb, in the presence of Ahmed Bouari, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests, and several MPs to discuss the ministry’s budget for 2025.
Ms. Driouch highlighted key performance indicators for the sector in 2024, focusing on advancements in aquaculture, marine training, rescue services, and the development of the fishing industry and seafood marketing. She emphasized that these achievements stem from an integrated strategy aiming to boost sustainability and innovation in the sector, supporting the national economy and enhancing food security.
