Brazilian media have shared new insights on the expected recovery time for Neymar da Silva, star of Saudi club Al-Hilal, following his recent injury.
The Brazilian player had only just returned to the field after recovering from an ACL injury but sustained a fresh thigh injury during his team’s latest match.
Neymar, who had been sidelined for 369 days due to a knee injury he sustained with Brazil’s national team last October, made his comeback in the third round of the AFC Champions League against UAE’s Al Ain. Unfortunately, he suffered a new injury in the following game against Iran’s Esteghlal, held on Monday.
In a post-match press conference, Al-Hilal’s Portuguese coach, Jorge Jesus, stated: “Unfortunately, Neymar’s injury isn’t minor. I believe the pain is muscular and unrelated to his knee. We expect him to be out for about two weeks.”
However, the reputable Brazilian network « UOL » confirmed on Wednesday that Neymar’s absence will extend to at least three weeks. Consequently, he won’t be able to participate in Al-Hilal’s upcoming AFC Champions League match against Qatar’s Al-Sadd, scheduled for November 26.
