Customs officers at the Bab Sebta border crossing, working with the national police’s canine unit, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 67 kilograms of cannabis resin on Saturday.
According to an informed source, the drug shipment was found in the departure area inside a car headed toward the city of Ceuta. The drugs were carefully hidden within the vehicle’s fuel tank, which was driven by a Moroccan citizen.
Following the operation, the driver was detained and handed over to the police for further investigation. Both the drugs and the vehicle were seized under the supervision of the public prosecutor to pursue legal proceedings.
