Bank Al-Maghrib reported that the dirham fell by 1.18% against the US dollar and rose by 0.59% against the euro between September and October.
In its latest monthly report on the economic, monetary, and financial situation, the bank noted that there have been no foreign currency auction operations since December 2021.
The report also highlighted that interbank foreign exchange transactions against the dirham totaled 38.4 billion dirhams in September, a 36% decrease compared to September 2023.
For bank-client transactions, the volume of cash purchases reached 38 billion dirhams, with forward purchases amounting to 15.7 billion dirhams, compared to 30.2 billion and 15.2 billion dirhams, respectively.
In terms of cash sales, the amount was 33.8 billion dirhams, up from 31.1 billion in September 2023, while forward sales remained nearly stable at 2.9 billion dirhams.
