Wydad Casablanca has directed strong criticism at the Professional League and National Refereeing Directorate, expressing frustration over recurring refereeing errors it calls « blatant irregularities » that have impacted the team’s progress in the league.

In a statement shared on social media, Wydad laid out complaints about « refereeing mistakes » that it believes negatively altered match results, noting that these mistakes « do not meet the expectations of the Moroccan fans. »

The statement added that « the management board held several meetings to discuss the repercussions of these errors, assessing their effect on the team’s results and its title pursuit, » and emphasized that it had awaited a response from the Refereeing Directorate on recent cases, only to find the committee biased in defending its decisions despite clear mistakes.

The statement continued, « We acknowledge that refereeing is part of the game and errors can happen, but we expected serious corrective measures. Yet, after ten rounds, we have only received weak and unconvincing explanations. » The latest of these errors reportedly occurred in the match against Ittihad Tanger, where the club protested an overlooked penalty.

Wydad places responsibility on the Professional League, holding it accountable as the body responsible for organizing the league, and calls for reforms to protect club rights and ensure the integrity of the competition, warning that « the continuation of refereeing errors poses a direct threat to the league’s fairness and harms its reputation on both regional and international levels. »
