The director of Valencia Hospital, Alfredo Ribelles Villalba, confirmed that the logistical support mobilized under the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to assist in the relief efforts in the flood-stricken areas of southeastern Spain « significantly contributed » to restoring damaged infrastructure.
Praising the Moroccan teams’ skill, professionalism, and expertise, Mr. Ribelles described their work as « essential » in expediting the rehabilitation of affected infrastructure.
Speaking to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), the Spanish official, while welcoming a second Moroccan convoy consisting of 13 trucks, including 12 pumping and suction trucks and a maintenance vehicle, highlighted that this Moroccan aid reflects « a strong commitment to international solidarity. »
Accompanied by Virginia Barcones, Director-General of Spanish Civil Protection, Morocco’s Consul General in Valencia, Saïd El Idrissi Bouzidi, and several local officials, Mr. Ribelles emphasized that specially equipped facilities were provided to ensure optimal conditions for Moroccan teams to carry out their mission.
The operation also includes 34 workers equipped with state-of-the-art technology to assist rescuers and facilitate access to disaster-stricken areas.
Under the royal instructions of King Mohammed VI, Morocco’s Minister of Interior had contacted his Spanish counterpart to express Morocco’s readiness to send rescue teams and provide all necessary assistance to Spain in the wake of this natural disaster.
