The police department in Laâyoune has firmly denied false claims and social media posts suggesting that a minor girl was abducted in the city by masked individuals as she was returning from her tutoring classes.
To clarify for the public, the police explained that the case involved a missing person report filed by the minor’s family after reporting her absence from home. The authorities promptly activated the “Missing Child” protocol, a standard procedure established by the General Directorate of National Security for similar cases.
Investigations have confirmed that the minor was not kidnapped or detained. Instead, she was manipulated by an older individual, who is currently being sought for arrest and further judicial investigation.
