Monir Limouri Elected as President of Tangier Territorial Group

On Monday, Monir Limouri was elected as the president of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Territorial Group for Distribution.

According to a statement from the Tangier Municipality, the election took place during a session chaired by Younes Tazi, the Wali of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and governor of the Tangier-Assilah prefecture, alongside Abdelkhalek Marzouki, governor of Fahs-Anjra province.

Limouri secured a majority vote from the 148 representatives out of 171 total members.

During the same session, four vice-presidents were also elected with 158 votes each:

  • Mustapha El Bakouri (Tetouan province),

  • Mohamed Sefiani (Chefchaouen province),

  • Moumen Sabihi (Larache province),

  • Farid El Boutaher (Al Hoceima province).

Additionally, Abdelrahman El Kouchi (Ouazzane province) was unanimously chosen as secretary of the council, with Ahmed Halhoul (M’diq-Fnideq prefecture) as vice-secretary.

The group’s headquarters is based in Tangier, as stipulated by the Organic Law for Prefectures and Provinces. Its duties include managing water and electricity distribution, liquid sanitation, and providing these essential services to rural areas.
