King Mohammed VI’s Message on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco addressed a message to Mr. Cheikh Niang, Chairman of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

The King reaffirmed Morocco’s steadfast support for the just cause of Palestine and the two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state, including East Jerusalem, as its capital. He emphasized that this is key to peace and stability in the Middle East.

Expressing grave concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza since October 7, 2023, the King called on the global community to act swiftly for an immediate ceasefire, the protection of civilians, and the facilitation of humanitarian aid.

The King outlined six urgent actions:

1. Immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza.

2. Protection of civilians and prevention of forced displacements.

3. Unconditional opening of humanitarian corridors.

4. Support for UNRWA’s role.

5. Revival of negotiations for a fair resolution.

6. Rejection of unilateral policies, particularly in Jerusalem.

As Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the King reiterated Morocco’s dedication to preserving the legal and historical status of Jerusalem, supporting its residents through Bayt Mal Al-Quds projects.
