On Tuesday, November 26, police in Nador and Marrakech, in coordination with the National Water and Forestry Agency, seized several wild animals and reptiles intended for illegal sale.
The first operation, conducted by regional security services in Nador, led to the arrest of two individuals caught red-handed with four wild animals of the « mongoose » species, which they were attempting to sell illegally.
The second operation, carried out in Marrakech, resulted in the arrest of a man in possession of 61 snakes, including 13 cobras, 36 colubridae snakes, and various other reptiles of different sizes, all kept in conditions endangering public safety.
The seized animals and reptiles were handed over to the National Water and Forestry Agency. Meanwhile, judicial investigations have been launched under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office to uncover the circumstances and motives behind the possession and illegal sale of these species.
