Barcelona coach Hansi Flick confirmed on Friday that rising star Lamine Yamal will rejoin the squad for Saturday’s match against Las Palmas in the 15th round of La Liga.
The 17-year-old forward, who has scored six goals and provided eight assists in 16 matches this season, has been sidelined since the start of the month due to an ankle injury. In his absence, Barcelona managed to secure only one point in the two league matches he missed.
Speaking ahead of the game, Flick said, « Lamine Yamal is back and ready to play. We haven’t decided yet whether he’ll start, but he will play. »
Barcelona, currently leading La Liga with a four-point advantage over Real Madrid, who have a game in hand, has struggled in matches where Yamal wasn’t in the starting lineup. One such instance was a 4-2 loss to Osasuna in September.
