On Thursday in Casablanca, Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch met with Patrice Emery Trovoada, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tomé and Príncipe. The discussions aimed to enhance friendship and cooperation between the two nations, in line with King Mohammed VI’s vision for fostering South-South collaboration across Africa.

He praised the positive outcomes of the 2020-2022 cooperation roadmap with Sao Tomé and expressed optimism about crafting an advanced roadmap focused on key development sectors.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the political dialogue between their nations, marked by mutual and coordinated support in various regional and international organizations. The statement also highlighted Sao Tomé’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, exemplified by the opening of a consulate general in Laayoune in January 2020.
The talks also underscored the importance of establishing a business council between Morocco and Sao Tomé to boost bilateral trade and capitalize on the economic potential of both nations.
