The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) announced on Tuesday the procedures for the draw and the team allocations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025.

In a statement on its official website, FIFA confirmed that the 32 participating teams are divided into 4 pots of 8 teams each:

  • Pot 1: The top four ranked clubs from Europe (Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain) and South America (Flamengo, Palmeiras, River Plate, Fluminense).

  • Pot 2: The next eight European clubs, including Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Porto, Atlético Madrid, Benfica, Juventus, and Red Bull Salzburg.

  • Pot 3: Top teams from Asia (Al-Hilal, Ulsan Hyundai), Africa (Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca), North & Central America (Monterrey, Club León), and two additional South American teams (Boca Juniors, Botafogo).

  • Pot 4: Remaining representatives from Asia, Africa, CONCACAF, and Oceania, alongside the host country’s representative. Notable teams include Inter Miami, Urawa Red Diamonds, Al Ain, Espérance Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns, Pachuca, Seattle Sounders, and Auckland City.

The draw will prevent teams from the same confederation (except Europe, with 12 participants) from being placed in the same group. Inter Miami will be placed in Group A to play the opening match at Hard Rock Stadium.

The draw ceremony is set for Thursday evening in Miami. The competition will occur every four years in summer, featuring continental champions from the past four years.
