The Tangier Police Department promptly responded to a video shared on instant messaging apps this Tuesday, December 3, showing a man assaulting a woman in a public street.
Investigations conducted based on this footage revealed that the incident involved a dispute that occurred the previous day between a driver using a ride-hailing app and a female passenger. The disagreement escalated into violence, as documented in the video.
Following a complaint filed by the victim, the police identified and arrested the suspect this Tuesday morning in Tangier.
The suspect is currently in custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office as authorities work to uncover all the circumstances and motivations behind this case.
