Police in Agadir, working with Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 41-year-old repeat offender on Tuesday, December 3, for his alleged involvement in burglaries targeting commercial properties and residential apartments.
The investigation began on Sunday after a complaint about the theft of a safe from a furniture store. The safe contained a sum of money and several bank documents. Authorities identified the suspect and arrested him on Tuesday evening.
A search of the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of the stolen safe, part of the stolen cash, bank cheques, payment vouchers, and equipment such as surveillance camera recorders, a television, a computer central unit, gloves, and various tools suspected to have been used for lock-picking.
Further investigations revealed the suspect’s involvement in two similar burglaries in Agadir, targeting another furniture store and a residential home.
The suspect has been placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor to uncover further details about the case and establish all criminal acts attributed to him.
