Abdeljabbar Rachidi Elected President of Istiqlal Party’s National Council
Abdeljabbar Rachidi was unanimously elected this Saturday as the President of the National Council of the Istiqlal Party.
In his acceptance speech, Rachidi expressed that this trust makes him fully aware of the weight of responsibility entrusted to him.
The newly elected president of the party’s « parliament » emphasized that he will serve both the party’s Secretary-General, Nizar Baraka, and the nation.
Rachidi presented proposed amendments to the party’s internal regulations to the National Council members to align them with the party’s statutes.
Key proposed changes include:

Allowing membership applications to be submitted online (amendment to Article 2).

Updating Article 10 concerning the Code of Ethics.

Establishing new conditions for party inspectors, such as a minimum of five years of membership and defining their roles, including participation in the executive committee’s work without decision-making authority.
