On December 20-21, the city of Tanger will host the second edition of the National Conference on Advanced Regionalization, themed: « Advanced Regionalization: Meeting Today’s and Tomorrow’s Challenges. » The event is held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Organized by the Ministry of the Interior in partnership with the Moroccan Regions Association, this event aims to assess progress made and share best practices in regional management.
According to a joint statement from the organizers, participants will engage in constructive dialogue to highlight successful initiatives and flagship projects undertaken by various regions. The conference seeks to encourage the exchange of expertise and foster innovative and tailored solutions to territorial challenges. A clear and actionable roadmap will be outlined, containing practical and realistic recommendations that take into account the unique characteristics of each region and the aspirations of citizens, to strengthen territorial cohesion and contribute to sustainable and inclusive development.
The event will gather government officials, regional presidents, local council members, experts, and Moroccan and international political and economic stakeholders.
The conference will feature two days of thematic workshops focusing on strategic topics such as enhancing territorial attractiveness, productive investment, financing development programs, water stress management, transport and mobility development, and the digital transformation of local governments.
