Wholesale Trade Performance: Forecasts for Q4 2024

The High Commission for Planning reported that 69% of wholesalers expect overall sales volume to remain stable during Q4 2024, while 25% anticipate an increase.

According to a recent note on quarterly economic situation surveys, this development is mainly attributed to the expected increase in sales in the following sectors:

• Wholesale of other industrial equipment

• Wholesale of household supplies

• Wholesale of communication and IT equipment

Meanwhile, sales in other specialized wholesale trade sectors are expected to remain stable.

Regarding order books, 79% of wholesalers predict a normal level for Q4 2024, and 84% of business leaders expect the number of employees to remain unchanged.

Results for Q3 2024

In Q3 2024, 70% of business leaders stated that their domestic market sales remained stable, while 21% reported an increase. This trend is primarily due to:

• Increased sales in industrial equipment and household supplies

• Decreased sales in raw agricultural materials and live animals

For employment, 75% of business leaders reported stability, and 88% of wholesalers considered stock levels to be normal. Regarding sale prices, 87% indicated that they remained stable.
