The Criminal Chamber of the Casablanca Court of Appeal has handed down a total of 24 years in prison to those involved in a real estate fraud case. Among the accused are « A. Boudrika, » the brother of a former president of Raja Casablanca football club, and a prominent notary.
In the early hours of Saturday, the court sentenced the main defendants – « A. Boudrika » and the notary – to six years in prison each. This is in connection with a property named « Blad Hadda » with land title number “49/11384” located in Tit Mellil.
The court also sentenced « Batoul, » the adopted daughter of the property owner, and an intermediary named « A. Selsouli » to six years in prison each. Another intermediary, « Alami B., » received three months in prison, while « El Karouani, » suspected of bringing in an imposter posing as the rightful property owner, was acquitted.
Seven individuals were prosecuted in total, including Boudrika’s brother and the notary, following a complaint by the heir of a deceased woman. The heir accused them of falsifying documents to seize property belonging to her late mother, the owner of « Blad Hadda. »
Boudrika’s brother and the notary were arrested at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca as they attempted to leave the country.
The case took a tragic turn with the death of an elderly woman implicated in the matter. She had been brought in to impersonate the true owner of the disputed property.
During previous court sessions, the accused denied the charges. « A. Boudrika » claimed he had no prior knowledge of the other defendants, a statement echoed by the adopted daughter of the property owner in court.
The public prosecutor charged the main defendants with participating in the falsification and use of official documents and concealing records that could obstruct criminal investigations.
