Today, Monday, the Court of Appeal in Casablanca postponed the trial session of the defendants in the murder of the student « Badr » at a famous restaurant in Casablanca until January 13th next year, due to the absence of defense for some of the defendants, including the main accused known as « Wald El-Fachouche. »
This session, set by the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal in Casablanca, saw the absence of the family of the deceased student « Badr. »
It is expected that during the upcoming sessions, the court will begin presentations, formal objections, and preliminary motions.
It is noteworthy that the Criminal Chamber of the Primary Court of Appeal in Casablanca had sentenced the accused to death and life imprisonment in the case of the murder of the young Badr in the parking lot of the McDonald’s restaurant last summer.
The court sentenced the main accused « Ashraf S. », known as « Wald El-Fachouche, » to the death penalty after being charged with premeditated murder accompanied by another charge, along with attempted murder, participation in theft with aggravating circumstances, and the use of violence.
The same court sentenced « Amin R. » to life imprisonment for driving the car and running over the young Badr instead of the accused « Wald El-Fachouche. » « Abdel Rafik Z. » was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The court also sentenced « Ahmed S. » to 20 years of imprisonment and « Hamid A. », brother-in-law of the main accused, to 5 years in prison for transporting the accused to the city of El Aïoun before their arrest by the authorities.
The defendants were arrested in El Aïoun after approximately 35 hours of fleeing following the crime.
