On Thursday, the Moroccan government approved three new decrees aimed at modernizing administrative decisions. The decrees were presented by Aml Falah, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.
According to a statement from the Ministry Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, the first decree (No. 2.24.522) amends and supplements Decree No. 2.22.385 dated May 8, 2023. This decree updates the list of essential administrative decisions required for investment projects, ensuring that requests are processed and delivered within 30 days.
The statement explained that this initiative aims to revise the administrative decisions listed in the annex of Decree No. 2.22.385. It also aligns these decisions with Law No. 83.21 on Regional Multi-Service Companies and its implementing regulations, particularly those related to the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water – Electricity Sector.
The second decree (No. 2.24.523) amends and supplements Decree No. 2.22.386, which establishes a list of administrative decisions for which the legal processing period can be extended to allow for technical expertise or public inquiry.
The third decree (No. 2.24.524) updates the administrative decisions outlined in the annex of Decree No. 2.22.387. These decisions are deemed approved if the administration remains silent beyond the specified legal processing period.
