The Municipal Stadium of Kenitra hosted a thrilling clash this Thursday between AS FAR and Wydad Athletic Club. The game, part of the rescheduled 13th round of the Botola Pro, ended in a 2-2 draw.
AS FAR started strongly, opening the scoring early in the 4th minute through their captain, Mohamed Rabii Harimat.
However, the lead was short-lived. In the 14th minute, Wydad equalized thanks to Oussama Zemraoui, assisted by a key pass from South African Kaizer Mayolola.
Wydad quickly took the lead again in the 18th minute with a goal by Mohamed El Raïhi, capitalizing on a well-coordinated counterattack.
In the second half, AS FAR showed great determination to level the score. Their efforts bore fruit in the 49th minute when Youssef El Fahli capitalized on a critical error by Wydad’s goalkeeper, Youssef Moutii, to score the equalizer.
Tensions rose in the 74th minute with the expulsion of Wydad defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil following an altercation with AS FAR’s Congolese player, Inonga.
With this draw, Wydad Athletic Club climbed to 3rd place with 22 points, while AS FAR sits in 5th place with 12 points and a game in hand.
