Weather Forecast
The Directorate of Meteorology forecasts generally cold weather for Monday, with frost or ice during the morning and night over the Atlas mountains. Relatively cold weather is also expected in the southeastern slopes, the eastern regions, and the interior plains.
Snowfall is anticipated over the peaks of the High and Middle Atlas above 1500 m altitude. Rain showers, some accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected over the Atlas mountains and their western plains, the Phosphate Plateaus, Oulmès, the northern and central plains, the Rif region, and the western Mediterranean coast. A few snowflakes might also fall on the Rif mountains.
Morning fog patches are expected over the northern Atlantic plains. Moderate to strong wind gusts, accompanied by dust, are forecasted in the southern provinces.
Minimum temperatures will range from -5 to 2 °C in the Atlas and its eastern slopes, the Rif, and the eastern regions, and from 8 to 12 °C along the coasts, Tangier area, central plains, and the extreme south. Elsewhere, they will vary between 3 and 9 °C. Daytime temperatures will experience a slight drop.
The sea will be slight to rough along the Mediterranean, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Atlantic coast.
