Denial of Torture Allegations at « Ain Sebaa 1 » Local Prison
The administration of the « Ain Sebaa 1 » local prison has strongly denied allegations made by a former inmate against the head of security and discipline at the institution, regarding alleged torture leading to the death of prisoners.
In a statement issued in response to recordings published on YouTube, the prison administration stated that the accusations were « entirely unfounded. » It clarified that the head of security performs his duties in strict compliance with the legal provisions governing the operation of penitentiary institutions, under the supervision of the prison director.
The statement further noted that « the former inmate in question is known for his extensive criminal record and aggressive behavior toward staff and fellow inmates. Multiple violations involving violence were documented against him during his last incarceration. He has been repeatedly convicted on charges of fraud, theft, possession and consumption of drugs, carrying weapons in ways that endanger public safety, threats, and verbal abuse. »
Finally, the administration announced that it had filed a complaint with the competent judicial authorities against this individual, given the seriousness of the allegations made in the recordings, which tarnish the image of the sector and the reputation of its staff.
