First Phone Call Between Morocco and Syria Since Assad Regime’s Downfall
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced on Monday evening that Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, held his first phone conversation with his Syrian counterpart since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
In a statement, the Syrian Ministry confirmed that Foreign Minister Assad Al-Shaibani received a phone call from Bourita on Monday.
Bourita reaffirmed Morocco’s support for the Syrian people, emphasizing Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the shared values between the two nations. He also stressed the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties to serve their mutual interests.
